Job Description

A Hotel laundry attendant is responsible for ensuring all linens and towels are clean, pressed, and readily available for guests and staff. This includes collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry items, as well as maintaining laundry equipment and the laundry area. 

Key Responsibilities:

Collecting and Sorting:

• Gathering linens from guest rooms and other areas, then sorting them by type. 

Operating Laundry Equipment:

• Loading and unloading washing machines and dryers and potentially using other equipment like pressing machines or folding machines.

Washing and Drying:

• Ensuring all items are washed according to their specific needs, using appropriate detergents and water temperatures, and then dried thoroughly.

Folding and Sorting:

• Neatly folding or pressing laundry items and organizing them for storage or delivery, according to the Hiring People job description. 

M aintaining Laundry Area:

• Keeping the laundry area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Providing Customer Service:

• Assisting guests with laundry requests, such as answering questions or providing directions to guest laundry facilities.

Inspecting Items:

• Examining laundry items for stains, damage, or other issues that need to be addressed.

Inventory Management:

• Keeping track of laundry supplies and reporting low stock to the supervisor.

Potential for Minor Sewing:

• Depending on the specific motel, there might be a need for minor sewing repairs, according to Hospitality Staffing Solutions.

Special Projects:

• Assisting with special projects, such as stripping beds or delivering laundry to housekeeping, as needed.
