Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in Long Beach, California. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics company by managing critical financial functions, including accounts payable and receivable processes. The ideal candidate will excel in handling large datasets, collaborating across departments, and ensuring accurate financial operations. Responsibilities: - Oversee end-to-end processes for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. - Coordinate follow-ups on ocean carrier reconciliations to maintain smooth operations. - Analyze and update aging reports while managing collections efforts. - Investigate issues related to receipts and remittances, providing efficient solutions. - Organize and manipulate extensive Excel workbooks to support reconciliation and reporting tasks. - Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as vlookups and pivot tables, to manage data effectively. - Collaborate with various departments to maintain seamless payment and receipt workflows. - Support general ledger coding and validate data to maintain financial accuracy. Requirements - Proficiency in Excel, including intermediate to advanced functions like vlookups and pivot tables. - Experience handling high-volume reconciliations using Excel. - Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP. - Background in freight forwarding or logistics is preferred. - Knowledge of Cargowise is a strong advantage. - Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. - Educational background in accounting or finance is a plus, though not required.
